Where did the name come from? It is a fixed star called Spica. It is one of the luckiest royal fixed stars in the sky. So Spica Soap is a lucky soap. It is a bit cheesy if we call ourselves lucky soap. But Spica Soap is much more memorable right?
Why use a fixed star in the name? Corporations have used the stars in the name forever. It is us the public who are not aware of it. The astrology chart as part of a logo design is an original idea. Some corporations declared their birth year with something like “since 1903”. But with Spica Soap it is in the logo with the astrology chart of the conception of the entity. The only thing is you’re got to know astrology to read it.
If you do not know astrology then basically Spica Soap was conceived on the New Moon with a 9 degree Sun and Moon in Aquarius in 2025.
What has to do with soap? It does not, but the owner and soap maker is into astrology. Also it is a cool name right? Some people claim all the good names have been taken in the soap business. We believe differently. Just a little imagination and a look at a different discipline and you could come up with a unique name for your business.
So why soap? Good question. The owner and soap maker astrology chart is ruled by Venus. Venus is a planet in astrology that rules beauty, art and anything that is sensual. For us soap can satisfy three senses out of five when we use it. A nearly perfect Venus product.
So what makes Spica Soap different from the competition? For us the competition is not with other handmade soap makers but with big giant corporations that sell machine made cleaning products.
Our aim will always be handmade soap. We are not selling out to profit but put the end users at the forefront of our formulation of ingredients. We could make a cheap soap with cheap ingredients. But we are looking after the end users and the enjoyment of using soap.
We do have three target markets based on price and ofcourse ingredients selection. Handmade soap can be used by everyone at three different budget levels.
That is roughly our beginning and our wish to have our soaps in your bathroom for many years to come. Together we can change the body cleansing industry for a better world with less plastic and more ethical entity practices.
