Art of Adventure creates poster art inspired by a love of travel, nature and vintage design.
Established in Sydney in 2011 by graphic designer and illustrator Andrew Sharratt, Art of Adventure began trading at Manly Market Place, selling posters along with candles and soaps. Andrew expanded the business to the UK in 2017, but our Manly stall remains important to us and Is managed by Manly local, Mike.
All designs are original and designed by Andrew. He hand-draws each picture individually on his computer, giving them that old, yet modern look from which prints are created. Andrew employs modern design techniques, but his artwork echoes the nostalgic look of screen-printed, 20th Century travel posters. In that golden era of poster design, scenes were painted by celebrated artists such as James Northfield to attract visitors to locations in Australia and around the world.
